Online Student Assessment
This survey is useful to assess problems that your students may have with being successful taking an online course.
You need to follow up with an action plan to assist the student with overcoming barriers to success.

Voice Thread
I also had a lot of fun learning to use voice thread. this is a great application for creating Podcasts. I found some great archival pictures from the NYPL, and made a small podcast about Industrial Jobs in the 1920's. I don't really teach anything related to this, so it is just for fun, but I am thinking of ways that I can use Voice Thread in my classes.

Using Prezi
I really enjoyed learning how to use Prezi. It is so much better than Powerpoint fro me, because I am not a real linear thinker. Prazi allows me to move from topic to topic in any order, while at the same time it keeps me from going off on tangents. It also helps me to show the connections between apparently unrelated things.
I prepared a presentation that I will be giving tonight at my CDF class. I had it outlined on paper, and it took me about an hour to make the Prezi. I can still work more on the details- adding color and visuals, but I think it looks pretty good
the Prezi is below. Just click on the play button to advance through the show.
Let me know what you think

google docs
Google docs has a lot of good features, but I have not been impressed with it. google needs to put a team to work on fixing all the bugs. Right now I'd say "Watch out for free software!"
